Make and deliver

02 / Sketch and choose materials
Use the sketchbook to plan the garment. Decide which fabric belongs on each panel, then shop with the complete design in mind.
03 / Arrange and cut the pattern
Check the grain direction and placement of every pattern piece before committing the cut. The arrangement of the fabric is carried through to the finished dress.
04 / Assemble and sew
Preview the pieces on the mannequin, then feed the fabric through the sewing machine. Work carefully around changes in direction instead of rushing the whole seam.
05 / Finish, deliver and review
Add the requested decorations, compare the result with the original brief, and deliver the dress. Use the feedback to decide what to change on the next commission.

Check the failed requirement first. A colour restriction calls for different cloth; a missing brooch calls for decoration; a style maximum calls for reducing that trait. Changing all three at once makes it harder to identify the cause. Reserve money for explicitly required accessories before choosing optional trim.
